Rather than being mixed into the entire process batch and filtered out afterward, the liquid can pass through a contained bed of granular sorptive media.

Particle Size Matters

Fine and coarse attapulgite grades should not be treated as equivalent simply because the mineral chemistry is related. Particle size affects contact method, retention and hydraulics.

Impurity Chemistry Matters

Thermally activated attapulgite can interact with selected water, surfactants and more-polar impurities in compatible organic liquids depending on the grade and process.

Separation Method Matters
