The 30 Gallon Universal Overpack Spill Kit is a compact industrial spill-response system designed for oil, coolant, water, fuels, solvents, and other compatible non-aggressive liquids. Packed in a reusable screw-top overpack, the kit provides substantially more absorbent capacity than smaller portable kits while remaining compact enough for placement throughout manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, and industrial work areas.

With up to 36 gallons of absorption capacity, the GPSK-30 combines universal pads, long absorbent socks, pillows, disposal supplies, PPE, and an Emergency Response Guidebook in one organized response station. The overpack container measures approximately 21 inches in diameter × 28.5 inches high and provides protected storage for spill-response supplies until needed.

AT A GLANCE

30 Gallon Universal Overpack Spill Kit

A compact general-purpose industrial spill kit with up to 36 gallons of absorption capacity. The GPSK-30 combines gray universal absorbents, PPE and disposal supplies in a reusable UN-approved 30-gallon overpack for small-to-medium spill response.

36 Gallon Absorption Capacity

Provides substantial absorbent capacity for small-to-medium industrial spill events.

Universal Absorbents

Gray general-purpose absorbents are suited to common non-aggressive industrial liquids.

Compact Overpack Format

Keeps absorbents, PPE and disposal supplies together in one reusable screw-top container.

Why Choose a 30 Gallon Universal Overpack Spill Kit?

  • Broad-use universal absorbents: Designed for common industrial liquids including oils, coolants, water, fuels, solvents and maintenance fluids.
  • 36-gallon absorption capacity: Offers substantial response capability without requiring the footprint of a larger 50-, 65- or 95-gallon spill station.
  • Compact facility placement: The 30-gallon overpack can be staged near production equipment, loading areas, maintenance bays, warehouses and other higher-risk locations.
  • Contain + absorb: Long socks help surround or redirect spreading liquid while pads and pillows handle shallow and pooled fluids.
  • Complete response system: Includes absorbents, disposal bags, goggles, nitrile gloves and an Emergency Response Guidebook.
  • Reusable overpack: The screw-top container provides organized, protected storage and can serve as a convenient spill-response station.

How to Use

  1. Assess the spill: Identify the spilled liquid and confirm that universal polypropylene absorbents are appropriate for the material.
  2. Open the overpack: Move the kit to a safe staging area near the spill and remove the screw-top lid for access to the response materials.
  3. Use appropriate PPE: Select PPE based on the spilled liquid and site-specific hazards. Included gloves and goggles may not be sufficient for every situation.
  4. Contain the spill: Position the 12-foot absorbent socks around the perimeter, near drains or across likely migration paths.
  5. Absorb the liquid: Use pads for shallow surface liquid and pillows for pooled or higher-volume areas.
  6. Collect used absorbents: Place saturated materials into the supplied disposal bags or another appropriate waste container.
  7. Dispose properly: Manage used absorbents according to the properties of the absorbed liquid and all applicable requirements.

Choose the Right Spill Kit

Kit Type Best For Absorbent Color
Universal Oil, coolant, water & other non-aggressive liquids Gray
Oil-Only Oil, diesel, fuel & petroleum-based liquids; especially around water White
Hazmat Acids, bases, caustics, unknown chemicals & aggressive liquids Yellow

Not Sure Which Absorbent Type You Need?

Choose Universal for routine industrial liquids and mixed maintenance spills, Oil-Only when petroleum-based liquids must be absorbed while repelling water, and Hazmat for aggressive or unknown chemical spills.

30 Gallon vs. Larger Spill Kits

The 30-gallon overpack format is a strong middle ground between small portable spill kits and larger drum or wheeled response stations. With up to 36 gallons of absorbency, it offers meaningful response capacity while maintaining a relatively compact footprint for distributed placement across a facility.

Facilities anticipating larger spill scenarios may prefer a 50 Gallon Wheeled Spill Kit , 65 Gallon Spill Kit , or 95 Gallon Wheeled Spill Kit .

Compact Capacity for Distributed Spill Preparedness

The GPSK-30 is particularly useful when a facility needs multiple response stations positioned near likely spill locations rather than relying on one large centralized kit.
